x Apostol Kardamov: The men behind the wolf

wolf auf tausend plateaus is a project that intersects different fields and celebrates creative collaborations. The work of Apostol Kardamov coins the visual sensation of the blog. Here are two statements that unfold what happens when a blogger and an artist join forces:

Kevin Junk (wolf auf tausend plateaus):When I submitted an article this year for Kaltblut‘s Collection 4 (Notes on Epic) and promised to get illustrations, I knew straight away what I want: the watercolors of Apostol Kardamov.
After we had notified via Skype Berlin-London what could be epic as watercolor and how to transfer my ideas into his images, I forced him to listen to Woodkid and to think of something epic, I was not sure what to expect. And the result was EPIC indeed!
The next step was the publication of an article at TONIC, another watercolor drawing of Apo accompanied my text.
Since Apo lives in Berlin, he is the artistic backbone of the blog. His watercolor wolf is almost iconic. it determines the layout and design of the website and the sticker with his wolf howls throughout Berlin.
Connecting content with text and image is a luxury, but also solves the dilemma that you have as a writer if you can not draw. His portraits of the Generation Club interviewees are artistic added value  beyond what I imagined when we started planning the project.
Collaborating with Apo is great and I’m proud that I can showcase his pictures. In that way the blog itself becomes a venue for art and the aesthetic vision that connects us.
Apostol Kardamov:When Kevin asked me to paint some watercolour illustrations for his article (Notes on Epic) in Kaltblut Magazine, I got quite exited. Although It was really short notice, Kevin’s article gave me a clear and understandable idea for me to draw a picture in my mind for the project. At the end of our first project I knew that some bigger and considerable things will happen.
The first week when I moved to Berlin, I was trying to get out of another sleepy noob and Kevin come out with another two projects. The first one was for his blog’s sticker. He was thinking something stunning, something really catchy. I believe especially people around Kreuzberg can feel how the atmosphere over there chanced to more purplish and orangish. Then TONIC Magazine’s project happened. I think you just need to see it!
Thought out my carrier until now, I strongly believe that arts can be much more powerful together. The situation we are currently in at the moment drags us somewhere that we can’t really realize exactly what we see or what we read. Most of the time there is not much connection between visual content and verbal content. On the other hand, the association between our disciplines intensively reinforces what we do and gives opportunity to audience imaginative view.
With the collaboration between us, we can connect our disciplines and support each others happenings. I am hoping that the cooperation between us will continue and bring up more opportunities to expose ourselves.
